In 2013, the students and Mrs. Goode founded a Computer Science Club for the first time. CS Club sponsored SAS' first hack-a-thon that year using Leap Motion! In the 2016-2017, CS Club sponsored 3 hackathons: Web Design, Encryption, and Any Project. Julie Goode graduated from the University of Texas in Computer Science and worked in industry at IBM and Hewitt Associates for 13 years. Systems analysis was an excellent field as it enabled her to work from home and still be actively involved in raising her children - even homeschooling them when they were young. Eventually she made the exciting change to teaching and has never looked back. Mrs Goode has taught Computer Science for 8 years Computer Science and Math all levels for 14 years. Her first teaching assignment was Computer Science at Salado High School, in Texas, where she taught a group of students who competed in the Texas UIL Academic CS competition. After 2 short years, her team finished third in the state and she had 2 students finish first and third in state individually. Having taught math for many years she was very happy to be able to do both at Singapore American School. Her most exciting accomplishment at SAS was to increase number of AP CS A sections from 2 to 5 and the number of courses offered from one to three! Julie celebrates 35 years of marriage to Jim. Almost all of their children Jenny, her husband Tim, and children Emma, Luke & Jack Jonas and son Wilder, and Johnny live in Texas. Johannah Leigh lives in Indonesia. ARTICLES ON MRS GOODE
